Why Madre Verde
Madre Verde was created as a simple, intentional place to step out of daily noise and return to what’s essential. We hold our work with care and respect — blending ancestral plant medicine ceremonies with sacred songs, meditation, and nourishing food to support a grounded process of reflection and realignment.

Meet Rubén & Mila
Rubén and Mila are originally from Argentina, and their path has been shaped through years of personal experience with plant medicines, devotion to inner work, and time spent in direct contact with Amazonian traditions and the people who hold them. Rubén doesn’t call himself a shaman — he sees himself as a guardian of the space and the process, focused on creating a safe, well-organized container where each person can do their own work with honesty and responsibility.
Their role is to hold the setting with humility, clear guidance, and respect for the tradition.

Our Approach
Our ceremonies are guided with intention, simplicity, and strong attention to safety. Music is an essential part of the container — icaros, mantras, and medicine songs help support focus, grounding, and emotional navigation throughout the night. Rubén also draws from his study of the “Five Biological Laws” as a reflective framework that invites deeper awareness of the mind–body connection and how stress, conflict, and meaning can shape our inner experience. This perspective is shared as education and self-inquiry — not medical advice, and never a replacement for professional care.
We screen participants carefully and ask everyone to prepare and integrate with respect.

The Jungle Space
Madre Verde is located in the jungle of Quintana Roo, around 20 km inland from Puerto Morelos on the Riviera Maya. It lies along the Ruta de los Cenotes, a region known for its freshwater sinkholes and underground rivers.
A Living Tropical Forest
This isn’t the dense “high jungle” of the deep Amazon — it’s the Yucatán’s tropical forest ecosystem, rich with trees, plants, and wildlife. Being surrounded by living green, natural textures, and steady earth energy helps many guests drop out of the mind and into the body, which is a powerful foundation for ceremonial work.
Cenotes & Freshwater
The Ruta de los Cenotes is known for its underground rivers and cenotes, natural freshwater pools formed in limestone terrain. Here, water feels present and near, shaping the land and the atmosphere in a unique way. We also have fresh drinking water on-site, and we keep hydration simple and intentional throughout the retreat experience.
A Space to Hear Yourself
Away from the city, the air feels quieter — not empty, but alive with the sounds of birds, wind, and the night. That natural soundscape supports nervous-system settling, presence, and a deeper connection with the environment. In this kind of space, it becomes easier to slow down, listen inward, and integrate what’s moving through you.
